Charlie Comeau — 2029 Catcher
Charlie Comeau is a 2029 elite-level catcher who plays for the Firecrackers Premier RTY Premier 16U Select team. In 2026, her previous team competed in the National Power Pool. Charlie also competes with the 18U Team South America at the TCIC Challenge, where she was selected as an All-Star.
Charlie plays varsity softball at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California, where she was the starting varsity catcher as a freshman and was named Team Captain during the season. She earned First Team All-League honors and was recognized by the Orange County Register as a top offensive performer in Orange County, ranking among the county leaders across offensive statistical categories.
Charlie was also selected by USA Softball for its High Performance Program and will participate in the program in Vero Beach, Florida, in December 2026.
Defensive Strengths
Behind the plate, Charlie brings an advanced defensive skill set built around exceptional blocking, strong framing, quick reflexes, and game awareness. She consistently works to keep pitches in front of her, helping limit passed balls and creating opportunities for successful pickoffs at every base.
Charlie has a 1.60-second pop time to second base and combines her arm strength with quick exchanges and athleticism to control the running game. As a catcher, she is also highly vocal and understands the situational aspects of the game, working closely with her pitchers to maximize their effectiveness throughout the game.
Offensive Strengths
Charlie is a middle-of-the-order hitter who consistently produces for both average and power. She has the ability to drive the ball to all fields, with home runs to left, center, and right, and demonstrates the ability to adjust her approach based on pitch location.
She consistently drives in runs and produces a strong OPS while providing a legitimate power threat throughout the lineup.

As a catcher and team captain, Charlie is comfortable being vocal and taking ownership of the field. She communicates effectively with her teammates, understands game situations, and works closely with her pitchers to bring out the best in each of them.
She is coachable, competitive, hardworking, caring, and a great teammate. Her combination of leadership, athletic ability, softball IQ, and character makes her a natural fit for a high-level collegiate program.

Charlie is a 4.40 GPA student enrolled in honors classes with a strong interest in playing Division I softball. She is creative, quick-witted, sarcastically funny, hardworking, and genuinely cares about the people around her.
Charlie will continue competing with Firecrackers RTY Premier 16U Select following the high school season and is committed to continuing to develop as a catcher, hitter, and leader.
